SYCOPHANT: a short film about chatgpt
SYCOPHANT follows Emily and her relationship with ChatGPT as she consults it for advice on her friendship issues. We explored themes such as the differentiation between mere anthropomorphic illusion and genuine human social connection, and wanted to underscore how ChatGPT's sycophancy-- or overt agreeableness-- can lead to a constant affirmation of ourselves, even when we're in the wrong. Data Privacy Chrome Extension Recognized by US Congressman Scott Peters
In October 2024, Stephanie and Cindy developed TOSNow, which is a Chrome Extension developed to better the data privacy crisis of our community and nation. We integrated Google Gemini API and web scraping to provide a useful review tool to summarize the once convoluted legalese into easy, readable, text. This was a project undertaken while our focus was on the broader harms of responsible technology.
